The Management, always committed to complying with applicable environmental regulations, considers the external environment as one of GIMA SpA‘s key “clients” and has established an environmental policy to be achieved through the implementation of an Environmental Management System in accordance with the requirements of the UNI EN ISO 14001:15 standard and integrated with other management systems.
GIMA SpA is aware of:
- the need to systematically and thoroughly ensure the environmental compatibility of its operations
- the opportunity to consider environmental factors as a means to improve its production efficiency.
- of the value of ensuring that stakeholders are properly informed about the methods for monitoring and improving environmental performance.
- of identifying risks according to the “Risk Management Thinking” approach.
GIMA SpA has decided to implement an appropriate Environmental Management System (EMS), designed and documented in accordance with the requirements of the UNI EN ISO 14001:15 standard and extended to all company activities and processes, intended as a tool for integrating environmental compliance objectives into the company’s overall strategy.
To support the statement above, GIMA SpA commits to:
- safeguard the integrity of the environment during the operational activities related to product manufacturing and the services provided, aiming to improve its environmental performance with a focus on pollution prevention and the full satisfaction of all stakeholders, thus making its activities increasingly compatible with the external community.
- maintain active internal and external communication channels regarding environmental issues and the activities and actions our organization adopts for environmental protection, aiming for transparency in communications.
- ensure the review of the policy and environmental analysis in the event of legislative, structural, or organizational changes.
- The systematic and timely compliance with applicable environmental regulations, fulfilling all current and future requirements of international, national, and regional environmental legislation relevant to its sector, as well as municipal regulations.

- Monitor and reduce the production of atmospheric pollutant emissions, and optimize electricity consumption.
- Optimize the production and management of waste generated, with particular attention to hazardous waste.
- Adopt the necessary measures to reduce environmental impacts associated with emergency situations.
- Reduce, where possible, the consumption of auxiliary raw materials.
- Ensure transparency and visibility of its activities to promote greater awareness of management practices among stakeholders.
- Set annual specific goals and targets to be monitored through controls, audits, and reviews, and document the adequacy and effectiveness of the EMS (Environmental Management System).
- Involve its suppliers and contractors, ensuring that their activities do not conflict with its environmental policy.
GIMA SpA, having identified its activities and services that have or may have a significant impact on the environment, commits to pursuing the following general objectives:
- Reduce the use of natural and energy resources through management and preservation wherever possible.
- Control the production of waste generated, prioritizing recycling and/or reuse.
- Make its Management System capable of ensuring the reduction of the significant impact of its activities on the surrounding environment.
- Gradually increase the use of raw materials and auxiliaries with increasingly better environmental compatibility.
- Disseminating this policy to their suppliers, requesting compliance and advocating its implementation in their own facilities
