HEALTH AND SAFETY
GIMA SpA, through a Health and Safety Management System compliant with UNI EN 45001:18, intends to consistently maintain its commitment to aspects such as Health and Safety in the workplace, strengthening its competitiveness through a responsible and correct approach, supported by continuous improvement efforts. This will be achieved across all areas with a single objective: to keep our level of attention high, ensuring we are valued and appreciated for what we offer and for who we are. We believe that the protection of health and safety is, before being a legal obligation, a moral duty and an objective that all organizations should pursue. In fact, we are convinced that a healthy, clean, and safe work environment, where we spend a significant portion of our lives, is a necessary element for working better and with less stress. To clearly demonstrate our commitment to these issues, we have paid particular attention to complying with mandatory legislation and, when possible, going beyond legal compliance. We have developed work practices that ensure adherence to all national labor, health, and safety regulations, guarantee continuous improvement of our performance over time, and promote transparent and constructive dialogue with all our stakeholders.
This document is aimed at aligning our organization with the following requirements, committing us to:
- prevent accidents, do everything possible to minimize injuries and occupational diseases.
- Foster a proactive culture over time to achieve safe behaviors and attitudes among staff regarding health and safety, through training and communication with personnel; ensure that the work environment is continually improved by adopting, where possible, technical standards, knowledge, and advanced techniques.
- avoid sanctions and legal measures resulting from non-compliance with mandatory requirements, and to develop within the company a set of skills and competencies fully suited to the routine management of safety-related issues.
- consult workers and their representatives on the measures and actions to be taken regarding health and safety;
The company considers the health and safety of its employees and collaborators to be the top priority for the effective and orderly pursuit of the following general and specific objectives of the adopted organizational system:
- comply with all applicable health and safety regulations for workers
- carry out periodic health surveillance of workers
- Maintain our current and future activities and processes in compliance with health and safety regulations as well as labor laws and standards
- Disseminate information to all staff regarding the status of our organization’s health and safety management
- Provide our staff and all those working at our site with the necessary tools and adequate training for the type of work performed
- continuously monitor the presence of hazardous substances within the company
- periodically review our security and social projects, systems and aims in the light of new information.
- Progressively improve the Safety Management System.
- Disseminate this policy to its suppliers, requiring compliance and encouraging its adoption within their own operations.
